Hallo liebe Leute, vor zwei Jahren habe ich, Simon Mitchell, Mitglied beim Beatles-Stammtisch-Hannover, einen Bus gekauft! Beatlesfans weltweit kennen den 3. Beatles-Film „Magical Mystery Tour“ aus dem Jahre 1967. Es ist ein besonderer Bus, ein Bedford VAL Plaxton Panorama. Der Bedford VAL war ein Reisebus, der während der 1960er Jahre von Bedford in Großbritannien hergestellt wurde. Als dreiachsiger Bus mit zwei lenkbaren Vorderachsen war er schon zu seiner Zeit eine seltene Erscheinung. Ich hatte damals als kleiner Junge das Glück im Beatles-Film mitzuspielen und bin im Film und Making Of Magical Mystery Tour auch kurz zu sehen. Daraus entstand eine besondere Sammelleidenschaft und ich habe in den vielen Jahren unzählige MMT-Teile zusammengetragen. Die wollte ich irgendwann einmal in einem eigenen Museum ausstellen und mit den Einnahmen und Spenden an Krebs erkrankten Kindern helfen. Was in der Sammlung noch fehlte war ein ECHTER Bus. Nun bestand die seltene Möglichkeit meinen Bus zu erwerben. Einige Freunde unseres Stammtisches haben mit mir nun zusammengelegt und den Bus erworben. Zurzeit steht er in der Nähe von Hameln und wartet dort auf die Fertigstellung. Hierfür benötige ich Hilfe, um dieses Projekt zu realisieren. Nächstes Jahr ist das 50. Jubiläum von MMT und ich hatte vor, mit Begleitung der Presse die Originalstrecke von MMT quer durch England von London bis Newquay abzufahren, um dadurch Spenden für die Kinderkrebshilfe zu sammeln. Hierfür benötige ich Hilfe. Ich muss erst einmal meinen Bus fahrsicher machen und durch den deutschen TÜV bringen. Wer kann mir helfen mein Traum zu realisieren? Es geht nicht um mich, es geht um Krebskranke Kinder, die dringend Hilfe brauchen, unsere Hilfe. Bitte geben sie was sie können. Dear People, two years ago, I, Simon Mitchell, a member of the Hannover Beatles Fan Club, bought a bus! Beatles fans worldwide know the 3rd Beatles Film Magical Mystery Tour from 1967. It is a special bus, a Bedford VAL Plaxton Panorama. The Bedford VAL was a coach built during the 1960s in the U.K. with two steerable front axles ,it was a rare sight to be seen at the time. As a young child, I was lucky enough to take part in the film and the making of MMT, and can be seen briefly. Through this I started a collection of all I could find to do with MMT and had the idea of opening my own MMT Museum and gathering donations to help children with cancer. All that was missing was a REAL bus. One day the chance arose and with the help of a few Beatles friends we bought the bus. She now stands near Hamlin in Germany awaiting to be finished. It‘s for this project that I now need your help to make it happen. Next year is the 50th Anniversary of MMT and I had hoped to re-drive the original MMT Route across southern England from London to Newquay, with members of the press, to help gather donations for children with cancer. But first the coach needs the restoration to be finished and then be inspected by the German TÜV. Who can help me with my dream? It‘s not about me, its about children who need our help.
